While coming from Aghios Nikolaos and pass Pachia Ammos going to Ierapetra, you will find a left turn to Ha Gorge and Monastiraki Village. Then you go straight till the first crossroad where you turn right. You pass the Ha Camp on your left and continue till the end where is an open parking space to leave your car. You continue on foot to explore the village, see the Fabrica and taste great local dishes at Captain Yannis. You can also have a drink at Liana's Cafe-Bar "Doma". "Doma" is the cafe-bar across "To Monastiraki Tavern" with outstanding view. You can also visit Taverna Kapilio in the upper area of the village.
The settlement of Monastiraki is located at the 10th km of the highway from Ierapetra to Pacheia Ammos and at a detour of 2 km to the right near the ravine of Ha, at an altitude of 180 m., On the outskirts of Thripti. Its name is probably due to a small monastery that existed there from the first Christian times. This old monastery, during the Turkish occupation, was turned into a mosque. The settlement is located in a beautiful area with gurgling waters, green and endless views to the bay of Merabelos.
